Pétition pour l'abandon du fichier EDVIGE

FRENCH POLICE TO RESUME LISTING OF
HOMOSEXUALS AND HIV+ INDIVIDUALS!

You may have heard about it: starting July 1st, 2008, a new decree allows French police to keep records of homosexual and/or HIV positive individuals 13 years and older!

The reason: the French government wants a list of individuals " susceptible of disturbing the peace", and/or "having solicited, exercised or currently exercising any political, syndicalist or economical mandate, or playing a significant institutional, economical, social or religious role."

The health and sexual data of these individuals, minors included, will therefore be systematically recorded. A mere suspicion is enough to have one's name on the list.

Several organizations, including LGBT Police organizations, have already signed a petition to have the decree annuled and the records destroyed. Please help!
